Ways To Subscribe To Alerts: Our Alerts, News, and Intel Platforms:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Keep in mind, when it comes to geopolitical alerts, news and intel the number of alerts or news posted will often depend on how active the global geopolitical situation currently is. High activity usually comes in escalatory spurts when one situation cascades to another. Similarly, geopolitical calm and low activity also usually comes in spurts.
Main Websites:
Patreon Alerts/Intelligence Updates (All Intel, all alerts, and all geopolitical news in one platform. This is our flagship platform but may not contain non-geopolitical news featured in The Standeford Journal)
Defcon Alerts Platform (Most alerts, some geopolitical news, some intel. Geared toward important alerts)
The Standeford Journal (Released news and intelligence updates, may Contain Non-Geopolitical News The Other Platforms Don’t Contain, Especially During Times Of Global Geopolitical Calm. Often contains very long and detailed reports)
Defcon Level Main Website (Our free alert system website, contains essential alerts and a free alert stream but does not contain email alerts)
NOTE: Alerts are typically released on the Patreon Platform first, followed by Defcon Alerts for critical updates and The Standeford Journal for in-depth articles. Not all content shared on our Patreon intel platform will be available on Defcon Alerts or The Standeford Journal. For comprehensive access to all our content, including non-urgent information, consider joining our Patreon Platform rather than this one.
Overview Of Each Platform/Site:
FREE: Defcon Level Main Website - Our free alerts website. Note that paid subscribers see a lot more information than what’s shown for free.
The Standeford Journal And Patreon platforms have more intel and informational ‘meat’ while Defcon Alerts platform is more meant to get out immediate alerts.
FREE/PAID: Defcon Alerts - Geared toward initial alerts. Contains some of the more immediately important news and intel updates. Initial alerts are usually posted to this platform before being sent out to The Standeford Journal as a complete news article but as they are initial alerts they often do not contain as much information and intel as the news articles on The Standeford Journal. Paid subscribers see a lot more information on both platforms.
FREE/PAID: The Standeford Journal News And Intel Platform - Geared toward news releases and intel updates. Contains geopolitical and non-geopolitical news that isn’t included on the Defcon Alerts platform. This platform usually contains more complete articles than Defcon Alerts and can contain a great deal more information, images, videos, documents, and intel. Paid subscribers see a lot more information. Paid subscribers see a lot more information on both platforms.
PAID: Patreon Alerts/Intel Updates - Contains all geopolitical intel, alerts, and news in one platform. Article layout isn’t as nice as the other two platforms, but if you want to subscribe to just one platform this is the way to go. The highest tier contains intel not included on the other platforms. May not contain some non-geopolitical related news posted on The Standeford Journal.
Message From Donald Standeford: “A heartfelt thank you to our paid subscribers. Your support allows me to focus on what I do best, delivering high-quality content. This is more than a full-time job for me. I never post fluff or insubstantial fillers, the frequency of articles scales with the current pace of geopolitical developments, with frequent updates, especially within the critical first 48 hours as events unfold.” .
Not Sure Which To Choose?
For those craving more frequent, in-depth alerts, intel, and updates join our Patreon Community where you get all of our updates consolidated into one streamlined place. NOTE: Alerts are frequently updated, especially in the first 48 hours, as situations develop.
Question: Which Of Your Paid Platforms Are Best For Me?
Answer: Overall, If you're looking for the most comprehensive coverage, our Patreon Platform's second and third tiers offer the richest array of news and intelligence. These tiers are ideal for subscribers willing to invest a bit more for enhanced content. Here, you'll find all our geopolitical news, intel, and alerts consolidated into one platform.
Defcon Alerts is our more budget-friendly option, designed for users who want to focus solely on receiving our critical alerts without the additional news and intelligence.
The Standeford Journal is our comprehensive news platform, featuring exclusive articles where alerts and intelligence are expanded into more in-depth, detailed reports compared to Defcon Alerts. It prioritizes quality over speed, catering to those who appreciate thorough analysis.
Important Note: Geopolitical articles posted on The Standeford Journal are also posted on Donald's Patreon account (second and third tier), but again, non-geopolitical articles found on SJ may not be.
Which is best depends on your budget, and whether you're looking for just alerts, or news and intel as well.
Keep in mind, if you're not able to afford a subscription we release free ad-supported alerts on the Alert Flash Page, just keep that page on refresh!
Why Pay For A Subscription?
Paid subscribers have access to much more news, intel, and information than free subscribers do.
We also believe news and intel should be about information, not indoctrination. It’s not our job to tell readers what to think, we believe each person should be able to decide that on their own. As such, we give straight news and intel.
Independent News And Intel
The alerts, intel and news found on our platforms are completely independent of any government, political, or any other third-party agencies. This means any information we put out there is free from being controlled by third parties. Read on to see how we evaluate our information:
Message From Owner/Operator:
Owner Donald Standeford: “While I try to put important information out there for free, I spend nearly every waking hour researching, monitoring, and writing. This is a full-time job for me, and what I do, and the value you receive is worth a few bucks subscription fee.
I'm an American traveler living in a small tribal village. When I first started doing this I was making often less than a dollar a day and could barely afford rice for my wife and son with ad revenue from my alerts website. I’ve come a long way since then and am now running The Standeford Journal where most of my alerts are also posted, along with more in-depth news, information, and intel than is posted on the alerts website.
Thanks to your support, I’ve been able to put food on the table and set up a few solar panels so that I can work through the daily power outages here.
It’s been a difficult journey to get here, and I attribute any success I have to Jesus Christ and my wonderful family here whom I love dearly.
For those who support my work: Thank you, from both me and my family. For those thinking about it: I’d be grateful, and I humbly submit that the information and alerts that you receive in return are well worth it, but that is something you can decide for yourselves.
We give straight and accurate professional-grade threat alerts, world news, and intelligence updates without the fluff or exaggeration".
Subscribe to Defcon Alerts for alerts, and The Standeford Journal for in-depth news and intel updates. The Standeford Journal may also include some articles posted on Defcon Alerts but will include many articles not posted here.
Each platform has been reduced in price so that subscribers can enjoy both without breaking the bank.
There has been some confusion about the purpose of each of the three platforms we run. I've gone through and rewritten the descriptions to better explain what each includes.
We’ve also been working on putting more information out for free on the Defcon website for those who aren't able to subscribe.
Donald: “Nearly all of our subscribers are free, so if you can subscribe to paid it helps sustain my family and me (this is our only income). Thank you to everyone who has pitched in with a subscription or otherwise.”
Who We Are, And What We Are About, And Why A Separate News Site
We give straight and accurate professional-grade threat alerts, world news, and intelligence updates. No manipulative agendas or fluff, completely independent of any governments, government agencies, or third parties.
We run a separate news site for a few reasons:
First of all, it’s difficult for people to sort through breaking alerts when it’s all mixed in with the latest news. Especially if that news isn’t of immediate importance.
Second of all, alerts can sometimes be infrequent depending on the geopolitical situation and global tensions. In the past during peacetime situations, I had times where I had nothing to report on, but now with The Standeford Journal, I can easily shift focus to putting out important news and intel on the news site while still keeping an eye on breaking alerts, the geopolitical situation and developing tensions around the globe. This ensures that I will not run out of things to report on and bridges that gap.
Expect more complete reports from The Standeford Journal, albeit sometimes a little later than the Alerts Platform. There are also reports on The Standeford Journal not posted on the alerts platform, which is mainly meant for putting out quick developing alerts rather than complete articles.
Like Defcon Alerts, articles in The Standeford Journal are also subject to being updated during times when news is in the development phase. Usually, the updates will be posted in the paid section of the article.
The Defcon Alerts platform may put out a flurry of alerts in quick succession during heated conflicts or may be relatively silent during the “in-between” times, or during times of relative geopolitical calm. Subscribe to The Standeford Journal for continued reports during these times.
Rest assured, “During the in-between” times, and during peacetime, I’m still always on the watch and alert!” - Donald Standeford
What If I want To Only Subscribe To One Platform?
If you only want to subscribe to one platform I would suggest Donald’s Patreon platform, or The Standeford Journal, as most alerts are posted there after I have enough information on them to put it out as a news report, and we’re shifting our news-related focus to those platforms. Our Defcon Alerts platform may be extremely active during times of heated geopolitical tensions, or may not be very active in between global tensions.
If you can subscribe to both Defcon Alerts and The Standeford Journal you will get the best of both worlds. And of course, all our alerts are always posted on our Patreon platform, usually before any of the other platforms.

Our Journalistic Standards
On Political Bias: We try not to focus too much on "political bias" or get too entangled in that mess. Our goal is just to get information out: that includes information from each side, including any information that profoundly affects the United States, or has a large impact on the world.
We try to focus on events that have large geopolitical impacts on the U.S. and the world stage as a whole. This can sometimes include local politics at times but is usually geopolitical in nature.
Our Macro-Scale Approach To Intel And Information
We like to take a zoom-out approach to global events to better understand things on a macro-scale. If the smaller details have a large global impact, we will zoom in and take a closer look to see how they are interconnected with the larger picture.
Our View Of Propaganda And Emotional Manipulation
We do our best to keep political propaganda out as much as possible. We dislike propaganda, loaded language (targeting emotions), and other manipulative tactics.
Some intel, such as statements from various governments or agencies may contain propaganda, but may also contain good intel and information.
We like to leave it up to the reader to decide what to believe about any given piece of information and will post such intel or government statements if we determine the information has enough intel value, otherwise, we try to refrain from posting propaganda the best we can.
Article And Alert Frequency
Most email alerts are only available for paid subscribers.
NOTE - Although we do a good job getting information out quickly, we value quality over quantity. We do not post meaningless fillers, or try to appease the microwave generation mentality by posting out fast inaccurate, or incomplete information just to get alerts out.
Often we will spend a great deal of time researching a matter to get a more complete picture. Rest assured, we will get information out quickly if the matter in question is urgent. You are subscribing to quality service, not ambiguous one or two-sentence updates with questionable accuracy as is often seen for free on social media.
Bottom line: We don’t post fluff just to fill the void. If you don’t see a lot of alerts or news, it’s probably because not a lot is going on, or we are looking deeply into a developing situation.
There will also be times when alerts will be very frequent when there is a lot going on, at which times we work overtime to get alerts out as quickly as possible while still maintaining accuracy to the best of our ability.
News and intel tend to be slower on weekends and holidays due to the fact that most organizations and businesses are closed on those days. Expect updates to be slowest during these times and peak during the weekdays.
This may not be the case, however, if something big happens during these times it would in turn increase update frequency. Weekdays can also see slow times when not much is going on, so keep that in mind as well.
Regardless, I am always on the watch, researching and gathering information.
Vetting Information
The information posted in our articles is carefully cross-referenced and vetted for accuracy. No news agency in the world can claim to have attained perfection, however. If you see anything inaccurate in any of our reports, please contact us immediately and it will be further looked into. Integrity is very important to us.
Time Zone
Articles are based on the UTC time zone. Screenshots taken by me are Asian time zone GMT +8 hours (well ahead of North America) due to the fact that I am currently located in Asia.
Suggestions Or Questions
If you have questions, or suggestions such as news or regions to cover, feel free to message us and we will consider refocusing our attention depending on the information.
Added Information To Articles Already Written
Articles may be added to after being initially written without notification being sent out, so if you want to stay up to date make sure to refresh articles you're interested in if you want to see if there is new information posted.
Receiving Too Many Emails?
What if I am receiving too many emails? If you are receiving too many emails, you can either turn off email notifications or unsubscribe from email notifications or newsletters. Remember, you can always check the news and alerts manually by visiting the platforms. Make sure to bookmark them!
If you are a Patreon member, you can also either turn off email alerts from the platform or join one of our other platforms for fewer email alerts and just check the alerts/intel/news manually.
Receiving Too Few Emails?
If you would like to receive more email alerts, consider joining our Patreon which sends an email alert for every alert, news, or intel piece posted. Remember, as a Patreon subscriber you have the option to turn on or off email alerts.
What Is Loaded Language?
Loaded language is the usage of "emotive" language which is used to target the reader’s emotions and create a strong emotional response. It is heavily used in psych-ops (psychological operations) tactics in order to alter a person's perception of reality toward a specific end or goal.
We do not believe loaded language should be used to target the reader’s emotions. I believe when it comes to news, every person should be left to decide for themselves what to believe without being coerced or manipulated.
Our job is to get accurate information and reports out to the reader, that's it.
That said, we are all human. We do our best to uphold our own reporting standard, and no journalist or news agency is above, nor should they be above accountability.
Although we try to keep propaganda out of our reports the best we can, there will be some reports that include it (such as the Ministry of Defense statements from various countries, statements from various politicians or public figures, etc.).
Usually, if we post statements that contain these things, it is because it has some redeeming qualities (such as containing intel, important context, or information).
In these cases, we trust our readers have enough discernment to understand how to see the propaganda for what it is.
The Kind Of Articles To Expect
In this platform, you will receive instant alerts, news and intel collected from various locations, including government sources, such as Ministry of Defense statements from countries around the world.
Our aim is to create a space where subscribers can go to get a telescopic geopolitical understanding of what’s going on around the world, and why, including current conflicts.
What Are The Differences Between Our Two Main Platforms?
The Defcon Alerts platform is for receiving quick alerts and The Standeford Journal is where all of our intelligence and geopolitical news is posted. This contains all document versions for intel, PDF files, and other included material for any piece of intel.
The Patreon Platform contains all alerts, intel, and news. It also contains some intel and news not posted on Defcon Alerts. May not contain some non-geopolitical related news posted in The Standeford Journal.
Not sure which to get? Try both out. You can even subscribe to both platforms to get all alerts, news, and intelligence updates. If you’re strapped for cash you can always subscribe to the free version of Defcon Alerts to receive instant alerts and the paid version of The Standeford Journal so you can see the in-depth news and intel.
