YEMEN - Yemense media has reported that the United States and Britain carried out airstrikes in Hodeidah, Yemen using drones, adding that Yemen continues to attack Israeli-linked vessels in the Red Sea. Yemen has also unveiled an unmanned underwater drone “to counter U.S. naval threats”.
No official statements have been released by the United States regarding any such attacks having been carried out by the United States or Britain.
Additionally, pro-Houthi spokesman for Yemen's Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e claimed that the Yemeni air defenses successfully shot down an American MQ-9 drone, adding the claim that it's the 12th U.S. drone to have been shot down by Yemeni forces "during the Battle of the Promised Conquest and the Holy Jihad, supporting the Al-Aqsa Flood operation," since October 1, 2017, according to Yemeni news agency Almasirah, which was founded and is run by the Houthis.
The news agency said the drone was conducting "hostile operations" in Al-Yatmah airspace in the Al-Jawf Governorate. It should be noted that the Houthi have issued such statements in the past about destroying U.S. military assets only to have the U.S. government issue a statement later saying the claims were false.
