US/YEMEN - The Houthi-backed Yemen Armed Forces has claimed it carried out a military operation against the USS Harry Truman forcing them to leave the theater of operations and retreat to the Red Sea.

Previous statements from the Yemen Armed Forces claiming attacks on U.S. aircraft carriers have been refuted by the United States.

A statement released by U.S. Central Command today showed a photo of the USS Harry Truman along with the caption, "An F/A-18E Super Hornet, attached to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 81, launches from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility".
