US Forces Destroy 2 Houthi Drones Over Red Sea, 1 In Yemen
The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier group arrived in the Middle East Central Command Area of Responsibility (AoR) on Wednesday.
YEMEN/RED SEA - U.S. forces destroyed two Houthi unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Red Sea and one drone in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen, according to U.S. Central Command.
CENTCOM stated, "It was determined these UAVs presented a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region".
The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier group arrived in the Middle East Central Command Area of Responsibility (AoR) according to a CENTCOM statement released Wednesday which had been earlier reported.
The statement said, "USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), equipped with F-35C and F/A-18 Block III fighters, entered the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) area of responsibility. The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 3, is accompanied by Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 21 and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9."
