US Forces Defeat Houthi Attacks On US-Flagged Ships In Gulf Of Aden Being Escorted By Navy
U.S. Central Command reported that the attacks did not result in any injuries or damages to any vessels, civilians, or U.S. naval forces.
YEMEN - U.S. Navy destroyers have successfully defeated a range of Houthi-launched weapons targeting U.S.-owned, operated, and flagged merchant vessels as the destroyers were escorting the ships through the Gulf of Aden region on December 9th and 10th.
U.S. Central Command reported that the attacks did not result in any injuries or damages to any vessels, civilians, or U.S. naval forces.
"The destroyers successfully engaged and defeated multiple one-way attack uncrewed [unmanned] aerial systems (OWA UAS), and one anti-ship cruise missile (ASCM), ensuring the safety of the ships and their personnel, as well as civilian vessels and their crews."
