US Carries Out Airdrops Into Northern Gaza, COGAT Releases April Humanitarian Aid Report
To date the U.S. has dropped nearly 1,170 tons of humanitarian assistance.
GAZA - The United States carried out a humanitarian assistance airdrop into Northern Gaza on May 5th, 2024 in order to provide relief to the civilians in the midst of the ongoing conflict in the Strip.
During the airdrops U.S. C-130s dropped over 25,000 Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) into Northern Gaza, during which U.S. Central Command did not assess that any civilians were harmed or that there was any damage to infrastructure, but continues to monitor the situation. 7 of the aid bundles landed into the sea.
U.S. Central Command said, "To date the U.S. has dropped nearly 1,170 tons of humanitarian assistance".
"These airdrops are part of a sustained effort, and we continue to plan follow-on aerial deliveries."
