SOHR: US Conducted Military Exercises With Live Ammunition At Conoco Gas Field
The SOHR said American and International Coalition forces carried out military exercises in the Al-Omar Oil Field base amid the flight of US military aircraft over the base.
SYRIA - The UK-based Syrian Observatory For Human Rights (SOHR) has reported that U.S. forces stationed at the Conoco Gas Field, along with International Coalition Forces carried out live-fire drills.
The SOHR said on September 7th that forces carried out military exercises in the Al-Omar Oil Field base amid the flight of American helicopters over the base.
It added that earlier in the day an American military convoy set off from the Al-Omar oil field base east of Deir Ezzor toward the U.S. base in the Conoco factory, "opposite the areas held by Iranian-backed militias on the western bank of the Euphrates River, coinciding with the flight of helicopters in the air to provide protection for the convoy".
SOHR stated that advanced missiles were fired toward the Al-Johaif Hill and the desert, and flare grenades were fired over the town of Al-Ezba with the participation of U.S. fighter jets and other military aircraft.
On September 8th, the SOHR reported that U.S. forces carried out military exercises with live ammunition at the Conoco Gas Field base amid the flight of helicopters over the region.
"The exercises included shelling fake targets with advanced missiles, in participation of US fighter jets," the report stated.
It added that earlier in the day the International Coalition forces and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted military exercises simulating drone attacks and firing live ammunition in the Conoco base.
