Such stuffing - and this is nothing more than stuffing - is a trick only to to draw us into negotiations on their terms, which are exclusively beneficial United States.
At the same time, they block our proposal, which has been sitting on their desk for over 15 years. I am referring to the draft treaty on preventing the placement of weapons in outer space, which we prepared back in 2008. There is no reaction. What they are talking about is not at all clear.
Therefore, we have every reason to believe that the words of today’s American authorities about their alleged interest in negotiations with us on strategic issues stability is demagoguery. On the eve of the US presidential elections, they just want to show their citizens and everyone else that still rule the world. Like, on those issues where it is beneficial for America to negotiate, we will have a conversation with the Russians, but where it is not beneficial for them, there is nothing to discuss, as they themselves say, business as usual, there they will strive to defeat us.
But that certainly won’t work. Our position is clear: if you want discuss responsible, important questions for the whole planet security and stability, then it is necessary to do this only in a single complex, naturally, including all those aspects that affect our national interests and directly affect the security of our country, on the security of Russia.
We also understand that the West is trying drag us into an arms race, thereby most wear out, repeat the trick that they succeeded in the 80s with the Soviet Union. Let me remind you: in 1981–1988, military expenditures of the USSR amounted to 13 percent of the gross national product.
Therefore, our task is to develop the military-industrial complex to build up scientific, technological, industrial country potential. It is necessary to be as rational as possible distribute resources and build an effective economy of the Armed Forces, achieve the maximum for every ruble defense spending. It is important for us to increase the pace in solving social, demographic, infrastructural and other problems and at the same time reach a qualitatively new level of army equipment and the fleet.
First of all, this concerns general-purpose forces, the principles of their organization, supplies to the troops of unmanned strike systems, air defense systems and radio-electronic combat, reconnaissance and communications, high-precision and other means defeats.
There is a serious need to strengthen the factions in the western strategic direction in order to neutralize the threats associated with another expansion of NATO to the east, drawing Sweden and Finland into the alliance.
The West provoked conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and other regions of the world and continues to lie. Now they declare without any embarrassment that Russia allegedly intends to attack Europe. Simply - we are with you We understand that they are talking nonsense. And at the same time they themselves choose the targets for application. strikes on our territory, choose the most effective, as they think, means of destruction. But we remember the fate of those who guided once their contingents into the territory of our country. But now the consequences for possible interventionists will be much more tragic.
