Reports: US-Led Coalition Launched Airstrike On Vehicle In Syria, Turkey Also Launches Strikes In Multiple Locations
The SOHR reported that the airstrike targeted a vehicle around the town of Urm al-Jawz in the western countryside of Idlib.
SYRIA - The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), and Arab magazine Al Majalla have reported an airstrike in Idlib, Syria by the U.S.-led coalition on a vehicle.
There have been no statements on the strike released by U.S. Central Command. This report will be updated once any statements are made available.
The SOHR reported that the airstrike targeted a vehicle around the town of Urm al-Jawz in the western countryside of Idlib.
The observatory said, "This operation comes within the framework of the continuous campaign carried out by the coalition against military targets in northwestern Syria, at a time when the security situation is witnessing a continuous escalation."
It added, "A little while ago, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activists reported that the atmosphere of Idlib Governorate witnessed an intense flight of three reconnaissance aircraft of the international coalition, without knowing the reasons for the flying of the enlightenings extensively."
In a statement and video released by the Editor-In-Chief of Al Majalla, an Arab current affairs magazine, Ibrahim Hamidi also reported that the U.S.-led coalition had launched an airstrike near Orem Ajouz, in Idlib, Syria.
A translation of Ibrahim Hamidi's statement said, "US-led coalition launches airstrike near town of Orem Ajouz (my town) in Idlib. targeted jihadist, - coincides with Damascus' announcement of arrest of Iraqi ISIS leader who was planning attack on Sayyida Zeinab near Damascus."
