Polish General: Rocket Entered And Left Polish Territory From/To Ukraine, Russia Responds To "Unfounded Allegations"
A report by Polish media RMF 24 cited Polish General Wiesław Kukuła as saying that "everything points to a Russian missile" entering Polish airspace and then leaving it.
POLAND: Polish Operational Command stated that an “unknown airborne object” entered Poland’s airspace on the side of its border with Ukraine, Polish media reported that a rocket fell near the Wożuczyn-Cukrownia in the Hrubieszów district, then later a report surfaced citing Polish General Wiesław Kukuła saying that it entered Polish airspace and then left it.
Deputy Minister of National Defense Stanisław Wziątek was cited by Polish media as saying that Poland's military "cannot rule out provocation" and that no scenario could be ruled out at this point regarding the missile that entered Polish airspace on Friday, December 29th, and stressed the importance of full cooperation with the Polish President on the matter, because "he is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces".
The Defense Minister added that it could have been an imprecisely programmed missile or a technical error that caused the rocket to veer away from its original path, according to a translation of an article by Radio ZET.
Polish media Polsat and Rzeczpospolit reported that the unidentified object that flew over Polish territory was "most likely" a Russian Ch-22 or CH-101 cruise missile. Rzeczpospolit cited Polish Operational Command saying they were searching for an object southeast of Zamość.
