Pakistan Carries Out Operation Against "Terrorist Sanctuaries" In Afghanistan

PAKISTAN/AFGHANISTAN - The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that the country has carried out an “intelligence-based anti-terrorist operation” against “terrorist sanctuaries” within Afghanistan.
The MoFA added that the operation targeted the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, which it says along with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was responsible for multiple terrorist attacks within Pakistan.
Furthermore, it says the attacks by the groups resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians and law enforcement officials, and that the latest attack occurred on March 16th, 2024 at a security post in Mir Ali in North Waziristan claiming the lives of 7 Pakistani soldiers.
