North Korea: Joint Military Drills Around Korean Peninsula With American Nuclear Submarine, Carrier Group, RC-135S Reconnaissance Aircraft "Grave" Situation
North Korean Ministry of Defense: "On Nov. 21, the strategic reconnaissance plane RC-135S [flew] above the East Sea of Korea, conducting undisguised air spying on the strategic depth of the DPRK".
PYONGYANG - The following is a statement from the North Korean Chief of Information Office of the country's Ministry of Defense regarding the U.S. deployed George Washington carrier strike group in the waters around the Korean peninsula, staging "Freedom Edge" multi-domain joint military drills, with Japan and South Korea from November 13th through November 15th, 2025. In addition to the carrier, the nuclear-powered attack submarine "Columbia".
Additionally, the statement said, "On Nov. 21, the strategic reconnaissance plane RC-135S [flew] above the East Sea of Korea, conducting undisguised air spying on the strategic depth of the DPRK".
North Korea continues to call the drills around the peninsula a "provocation" and the presence of the nuclear carrier group and submarine a nuclear escalation, and a "grave political and military situation".
