North Korea Fires Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile Off Its Eastern Coast

KOREA/JAPAN - According to the South Korean military and Japanese Prime Minister's Office, North Korea has fired at least one intermediate-range ballistic missile off its eastern coast.
According to a statement from the Japanese Prime Minister's Office, the missile flew at an altitude of 100 kilometers (62 miles) at a distance of 1,100 kilometers (684 miles).
The Japanese Prime Minister's Office and the country's Coast Guard said Pyongyang fired a suspected ballistic missile. This would be Pyongyang's first ballistic missile launch this year.
