New U.S. Maritime Advisory 2024 - 008, 009 and 010: Middle East Regions

MIDDLE EAST - Two new U.S. Maritime Advisories have been issued for the Southern Red Sea, Bab el Mandeb Strait, and Gulf of Aden regions by the United States government (joint agencies).
Location: Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, Southern Red Sea, Bab el Mandeb Strait, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean. Description: Iranian Illegal Boarding / Detention / Seizure, Houthi Attacks on Commercial Vessels, Piracy/Armed Robbery/Kidnapping for Ransom:
Issue: Commercial vessels are at highest risk from terrorism and other hostile actions from the Houthis when transiting the southern Red Sea, Bab el Mandeb Strait, and Gulf of Aden.
Issue: Although there is no specific threat to U.S.-flagged vessels, commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman may be at risk of being illegally boarded and detained or seized by Iranian forces.
Issue: Although there are currently no specific piracy threats to U.S. flagged commercial vessels, recent cases of piracy pose a general threat to all commercial vessels operating in the Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean.
