Kurilla Visits Jordan: On February 4th and 5th, General Michael Erik Kurilla, Commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), visited Jordan.
During his visit, he met with Major General Yousef Al-Hnaity, Chairman of the Jordan Joint Chiefs of Staff, other key Jordanian Armed Forces leaders, and U.S. service members. They discussed strengthening the long-standing cooperation between the two nations, which began over 75 years ago.
They emphasized deepening the bilateral defense relationship, enhancing regional security, and further expanding the military-to-military relationship.
The Jordanian Armed Forces continue to be a reliable strategic partner, contributing to peace and stability in the region. General Kurilla also acknowledged Jordan's efforts in supporting the Defeat-ISIS mission across the region.
Kurilla Visits Visits the United Arab Emirates (UAE): On February 3rd and 4th General Kurilla visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During his visit, he met with Emirati National Security Advisor Sheik Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Issa Al Mazrouei.
The discussions centered around the current security challenges in the region, efforts to mitigate risks, and a shared interest in defense innovation, including artificial intelligence and technology.
They also focused on strengthening military-to-military ties, such as continued joint exercises to improve interoperability and readiness, and efforts to secure shared economic prosperity.
General Kurilla, Sheik Tahnoun, and Lt. Gen. Al Mazrouei agreed to continue deepening the U.S.-UAE security partnership, with the UAE recognized as one of only two Major Defense Partners of the United States.
