Kurilla Visits Jordan, Iraq, Syria To Discuss Deepening Bilateral Defense Relationship, Enhance Regional Security, Expand Military-To-Military Leadership

MIDDLE EAST - On 15 January, Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, Commander, of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Iraq, and Syria for meetings with senior military officials to reinforce the robust security cooperation between the two nations.
Kurilla also visited Iraq to meet with U.S. and Iraqi military leaders in Baghdad as well as U.S. servicemembers in Erbil. Gen. Kurilla visited Baghdad, where he met with Chief of General Staff Gen. Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and Iraqi Joint Operations Deputy Commander Gen. Qais al-Muhammadawai and discussed deepening the bilateral defense relationship, enhancing regional security, and expanding the military-to-military relationship.
