Japanese Ministry of Defense (translated): "Regarding the movements of Chinese naval vessels, the Ministry of Defense and the Self-Defense Forces have reported that the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's 13th Escort Squadron "Noshiro" (Sasebo), the 1st Maritime Supply Squadron "Towada" (Kure), and the 46th Minesweeper Squadron" Kuroshima (Okinawa) and P-3C (Naha) belonging to the 5th Air Group conducted information gathering."
