Tehran has now issued a Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) closing off its airspace and advising flights not to fly into Iran's central, northwestern, and western airspace.
According to the FAA Iran closed its airspace, but Tehran is now refuting the FAA reports that a NOTAM was issued which also happened last time a NOTAM was released about Iranian airspace closures.
Reza Kargar, Director of Public Relations at Iran Airports Company: "No NOTAM has been issued regarding flight restrictions or recommendations for flight reroutes. The reports published about NOTAMs and warnings are false".
Jordan has issued a Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) which advises airlines landing within its country to carry an extra 45 minutes of reserve fuel for "operational reasons". NOTAM in effect until 2200 GMT on Tuesday.
