Houthi Targets Chinese Merchant Vessel, US Forces Engage Six Drones Over Red Sea
US Forces, including the USS Carney also engaged six Houthi drones over the Red Sea, 5 of which crashed into the Red Sea, one flew back into Yemen.
YEMEN - Four anti-ship ballistic missiles were launched by the Houthis into the Red Sea near the Panamanian-flagged and Chinese-owned and operated oil tanker Huang Pu.
The merchant vessel issued a distress call but did not request assistance, according to U.S. Central Command, which reported that it suffered minimal damage and that an onboard fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.
There were no casualties reported as a result of the attack, and the vessel resumed its course. CENTCOM noted that the Houthis attacked the vessel despite the fact that they had previously said they would not target Chinese vessels.
