Capitol Police said that the crowd has started to become violent at First Street and Constitution Avenue, NW and the crowd failed to obey an order to move back from the police line. Pepper spray was then deployed against those crossing the line.
The demonstrations come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gives a speech to a joint meeting of the Senate and House of Representatives.
The speech being given is set to focus on coordination efforts between Israel and the United States in response to the current risk of escalation in regard to the conflict in the Middle East, as well as to call on the U.S. to respond more strongly to Iran and its use of proxies such as the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza, and the Hezbollah terrorist group in Lebanon.
