In recent days, the number of Chinese forces around Taiwan has doubled following the sighting of two U.S. naval vessels in the vicinity.

TAIPEI - On February 12th, 2025, Taiwan's Ministry of Defense reported sightings of 30 Chinese military aircraft, 7 People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessels, and one official ship around Taiwan. The previous day, 32 Chinese military aircraft, two balloons, 8 PLAN vessels, and one official ship were observed around the island.
