China Announces Joint Military Exercises Surrounding Taiwan, Taipei Condemns "Provocative Actions" By Beijing

The PLA Navy (PLAN) vessels spotted around the island of Taiwan by Taipei were led by the Liaoning carrier group, sailing through the waters near the Bashi Channel.

BEIJING/TAIPEI - The Chinese Eastern Theater Command has announced joint military exercises surrounding the island of Taiwan. The Taiwanese Armed Forces have strongly condemned the exercises, calling them “irrational and provocative actions” and says it will deploy the forces necessary to respond and “defend our national sovereignty”.
