An updated incident report said that there was a “loud bang” heard along with a splash, and smoke seen coming from the sea, but reported that the vessel and crew are all safe, adding that military authorities are “supporting”.

The UKMTO reports that authorities are currently investigating the incident, and that vessels transiting the region should do so with caution and report any suspicious activity.
