While the U.S. Defense Innovation Unit announced that the first iteration of Replicator (Replicator 1) all-domain attritable autonomous systems (ADA2) by August of 2025, a report by Naval News says China is working to build a fleet of specialized barges that could be used to carry out an amphibious assault on Taiwan.
The Replicator Initiative is a program by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) aimed at rapidly developing and deploying autonomous systems, like drones, to support U.S. military operations. A potential application of these drones could be to assist in defending Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.
