TAIPEI - According to Taiwan's Ministry of Defense, 17 Chinese military aircraft, 8 PLA Navy (PLAN) vessels, and 3 official ships were spotted around the island of Taiwan on March 1st, 2025.
Additionally, the MOD said that China has recently escalated military threats in the Indo-Pacific, "and beyond" and openly challenged international order, undermining regional stability, calling Beijing a "troublemaker".
Of the Chinese military aircraft spotted around the island, there were fighter aircraft, drones, bombers, and at least one helicopter.
15 of the military aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered into the island's northern, central, southwestern, and southeastern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
