14 Chinese Military Aircraft, 12 PLAN Vessels Spotted Around Taiwan October 21st, 2024, US, Canadian Navy Passes Through Taiwan Strait
The number of military aircraft (notably naval forces) spotted around the island is greatly heightened today
TAIPEI - According to Taiwan's Ministry of Defense 14 Chinese military aircraft and 12 PLA Navy (PLAN) vessels were spotted operating around the island of Taiwan on October 21st, 2024.
Additionally, American and Canadian naval vessels were spotted sailing through the Taiwan Strait, which although Beijing claims are Chinese waters, the United States and allied nations state are international waters.

China's Eastern Theater Command said that it monitored the U.S. and Canadian vessels as they navigated the Taiwan Strait and issued warnings to the ships. It said, "The actions of the United States and Canada caused trouble and are disruptive to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait”.
A satellite carrier rocket was also launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China toward the West Pacific and passed over Taiwan's ADIZ, according to Taiwan's Ministry of Defense.
